Default Going from test pipe to hfc

After a few years away from the S2000 just got back in with a KW SC 2001 making 382hp. Impressive car. It was tuned with a test pipe. The test pipe performs fine and coupled with the stock exhaust does not really provide much exhaust sound over the sound of the supercharger. While not horrible would prefer to get away from the fuel smell and the rear bumper as a dust shelf. Have seen some posts comparing HFCs flowing as much as 87% of test pipes. Curious to thoughts as to need for retuning to go that route?

13% restriction is going to = a little more then running with a dirty air cleaner. In other words the car will run slightly richer. Do you need to re tune? Not to be safe. Only if you want to spend a few hundred bucks and your time to try and eek back out 2-3whp. That's assuming you even had a "perfect" fuel tune to begin with. Probably not, if I know most tuners.

Yeah I mean you're tune won't be 100% anymore (assuming it was to begin with) but its not something that I would rush to the tuner for. Just keep an eye on your AFR gauge and make sure nothing screwy happens, and I'd call it good.

E85 does good to get rid of the gas smell, though.

I hear that high flow cats don't last long on superchared cars.

Does anyone have good experience with a HFC on a SC car - especially one that is tracked?

Appreciate the input and pics. No longer worried about the tune but the SC looks to be harder on the HFC than I ever imagined.

Maybe try a resonated test pipe? I hardly ever notice any smell compared to my buddy's nonresonated and I get no carbon build up at all on my bumper.

So I have been looking at FIA rally car cats there expensive but they are built to take the punishment. The core is around 650$ and a test pipe to hack up and tig back together. hoping to get this done over the winter I had a berk but it burned up quickly. If it works I will post my results and what it cost.

Many stock applications have high maximum airflow and work the engine hard. Could one of these applications be modified to fit an S2K? Maybe something like the CAT from a motor home with a 362hp 6.8L Ford V10 engine?
