Default Going back to stock springs

I have been using BC dual valve springs with steel retainers, but twice now I have experience a busted rocker arm bearing. I believe a tuner here chimed in that he had the same experience with some installs he did with those springs.

OEM has never failed me and that's what I want to return to but im confused now in exactly what setup to use. I have an AP1, so the AP2 intake retainers is a standard upgrade path and is recommended by Billman. But Billman also said he would NOT use ap2 retainers on the exhaust side, why?

The dilemma I am facing is that a shop I trust and use very frequently says that it is best to upgrade it all to AP2, ap2 springs and retainers, taking into account engine harmonics. Matched pairs.

I have heard many notable mechanics here debate this very topic, can any pros chime in to add to or take away from this? I have never seen any solid data here about the spring pressure on ap1 or ap2 springs, only a guesstimate of 65lbs for ap1 springs.

If you want to send me a new ap1 and a new ap2 spring i'll check em.. it's really not worth my time to worry about, if you mis-shift you'll bend valves, its a ton of work to put stock crap back in the car. Either BC has too much spring pressure or your valve lash is too loose. I havent tested bc springs. I've been using supertech beehive for 3 years now with no issues at all, same with ferrea beehive springs.
