What is your reasoning for just those models. I called a few junkyards, and they had regular tbirds/etc but no super coupes. If we are gonna swap out the guts, just wondered what we needed, or if anything else would bolt up that was worth while and wouldn't throw off the mounting hardware, axles bolt up/etc.

There seems to be different length housings available for the 8.8 rear diff. We designed our kit around the T-bird one. The problem is some junk yard's computer system will call a match with other applications such as the one from the lincoln.

We now supply spacers in case people run into this problem. As long as it is a 8.8 housing there shouldn't be a problem anymore. So far, out of all the ones that we have built. I have only seen two different variations of the 8.8 housing and you will not be able to tell until you go to mount it on the car.

Good to know, thanks for the heads up. So with that said, what are our available options for diffs now. What vehicles had 8.8's.

Btw, it might help you, and other future customers if you update all the pertinent information in the first post.

We will update this with more info on the diff. If anyone needs spare cases, we usually have them on hand.

Correct it's a beast given it's size. This is the 28spline of course though. Here's what I know as fact as far as the strength of the solid axle version, axles being the weakest link generally.

COT is continuous vs the MOT which is Max
Ford 8.8 28spline COT: 1250 MOT: 4600

These are numbers you can count on as far as the stock setup goes.

I'd like to know what limited slip systems are working well on road courses, I know eaton makes a lot of crap generally in terms of their off-road stuff, it's worthless though my road knowledge of diffs is far more limited.
