Fuel pump wiring causing misfires?

If if everything is hooked up right, then doubt if the stock wiring is causing your issue around 3-5k. If your exhaust sounds like a car running a subaru boxer engine, then it's prob a bad coil. Just acquire one and test it, LOL. It will be good to have an extra coil available just in case anyways.
