I can't comment on how long the SC'er install will take as I haven't done one, but I have swapped out the fuel pump. What took me the longest here was actually removing all of the plastic panels on the inside of the car that sit under the soft top, while trying not to break the plastic clips. Once the interior is out of the way and you have access to the top of the pump it will only take you another 20 mins or so since its only a few screws and then you can pull the pump out. It didn't require any type special tools, and should take you about half an hour if you are a mechanic. I take my sweet ass time and it took me an hour.

^^ I agree. The plastic in the back is fairly easy to get out. I removed the drivers seat since you have do some work near the ecu anyway. Throw a fender cover over the rear window, put your drop light behind the roll bars facing down and the rear window becomes a mirror, use it! The plastic clips on the front and back are push type not pull. Just push the center in about 1/8" with a small screw driver and then pull the whole clip out. Should take you about an hour to do everything since you are used to wrenching in tight spots.

i did the install myself in 22 hours with two buddies... we are not mechanics though we are not mechaincally challenged the fuel pump was probably the hardest part not because its hard just narrow space and time consuming.. if you have one person in the trunk pushing up on the plastic valence out you can do it..they are push pins so use a tip of a screw driver to push is in and unlock it.. like everyone else said once off it is easy...oh and try not to T off to many lines i was getting false boost readings because of this

I took off the plastic tray from the inside of the car first then went into the trunk like a snake and stayed there and took out the pump which wasn't that hard, but god my back hurted being from being all twisted by staying in there and finishing taking and installing the pump....

It's a pretty easy job. Since you are a mechanic, swapping out the fuel pumps should be a piece of cake. Taking the convertible tray out was a bit troublesome indeed. The hard part was trying not to break any of the clips. Anyway, should take about 2 hours for a full install.
