Flywheel for Turbo
I'm finding that the search function really sucks these days.
Anyway, I have an 05 S2k. I need to replace and upgrade my clutch before I install my turbo kit. Should be 375 - 425 at the wheels when done i suspect. I still have my original clutch with 180k miles (crazy right?). I've all but decided to go with the ACT HD / OEM disk / OEM bearings setup but I'm not finding anything useful on what flywheel to go with. I always assumed a heavier flywheel was better for turbo applications to keep RPM up, but would love feedback. What weight / brand / etc have people liked? I could resurface my AP2 flywheel and also have an AP1 flywheel, but if I'm in there, i might as well upgrade.
Appreciate the input!

I'd say if your car is mostly street driven and you live in some places with hills, stick to the AP1 flywheel. Seeing you're in Tampa, you can probably get away with the lighter ACT streetlite. Just know you'll have to give it a bit more revs and clutch slip to move from a stop. Personally, I was very happy with the overall drivability of the AP1 flywheel.

I tried the fidanza 8 lb and went back to the AP1. I'm using the ACT PP and OE disc at 470+ sc'd whp. Having to use more revs of the line got annoying, especially starting on hills and it didn't seem to really increase the ability of the motor to rev.

+1 on the Prolite. I didn't notice much of a difference between the stock ap1 flywheel vs the Prolite. I only even got it because I was unwilling to bother getting the oem flywheel resurfaced; faster and easier to just buy an "upgrade". But this was on an 02 with a 2.0. I still don't think you'll have an issue - especially if you use a setup that runs the OEM disk. I'd go for the lightest one you can find, personally.

All good info. Thanks everyone.
As of now I'm leaning towards the streetlight. I've driven a prolite on a supercharged ap1 and it is a bit too light. works well with the supercharger but I think I want a bit more momentum with the turbo. I'll keep everyone posted. This build will be my "over the florida winter" project.
