What!?!? My turbo RX-7 (420hp) had an 8lb flywheel and I can tell you it was one of the best mods ever!!

I had a Fidanza flywheel. I noticed ZERO positive benefits. However the flywheel definitely seemed to add noise and make it very difficult to drive. I sold the flywheel and went back to my stock AP2 flywheel.

How does adding a heavier flywheel create more torque?

I have a fidanza as well on my S. Not boosted yet (it's sitting in my living room). Have a fidanza on my boosted 'teg too. Honestly, I have no problems at all on either car. I let some friends drive both and the only comment I get is that the motors rev up fast. They wouldn't of guessed I had a lightened flywheel had I not told them. No problems launching, bogging (even on steep hills), or chatter.
There was a post a few years back where someone actually dyno'd with and without lightened flywheel on a b-series and found he gained 2-3 whp.
