finally got to the drag strip
I was finally able to take the S to the drag strip today. It was great, I was the only one there besides their pro and super pro classes. I got to run pretty much whenever I wanted in between each class. Overall I'm either really disappointed with the car or my driving abilities. I've only been to the drag strip twice. First time I made 2 runs and today I made 6. The first few runs it felt like the car was detonating in higher rpms. The car did not want to go over 8000-8500rpms. My first run was ok, the car had a problem going into 2nd and 3rd gear. I pulled a 15.3 at 114 mph shifting at 8500 and the 2nd and 3 gear issues with a 3.6 60ft. My best run was a 13.3 at 117 mph and a 2.4 60ft. After the first three runs the car started to run fine, not sure what the issue was. I figured with the power the car is making it is capable of mid to high 10's and that I should at least be able to get into the 12's and then with more practice in the low 11's. Any ideas, advice would be great. I'm going to need a new roll cage too. The safety 21 is not cutting it. If I rand lower then a 13.4 again I'd have to stop. I need a cage that is welded.

probably clutch slippage. or probably using an all season tires. your trap speed are so high. weird.......probably it starts to hook (the tires) on third gear. because of so much torque and hp.
probably you'll need to swap your stock L.S.D with Quaife ATB Helical L.S.D. on your diff. great on what your doing.

Seems that you are having a issue some where for sure. I make 505hp 351tq and ran a 11.4 @ 123 on street tires (RE-01R's). Your traps are up there but with the power you are making seems low or you may not be launching very hard? Also your 60ft's are high so that is slowing you down a little I had a 2.006 60ft. Its weird that it wouldn't go past 8000rpm for ya Im on stock rear as well.
What RPM are you launching at?

tires for sure.. and need to lower the pressure for traction.. n/a you should be hitting 2.2 or 2.1 60 fts, but with as much power as you are making you should be at 1.7 or 1.8 on the 60

You were rolling onto it, that really killed you in you 60-ft and overall times. Take a look at my video with street tires. I was still on stock injectors basically maxed out (so approx 320-330hp) and I was able to hit a 12.3. I was using 255 street tires at 18psi pressure. I was launching at ~6500 to get the tires spinning then feathering to get traction. I was able to hit 1.8 60-ft on this run. I went around the burnout box then spun the tires a bit to clean them off, not an excessive burnout.

how bad could have hurt me? a 13.3 is just horrible for the amount of power i'm pushing. hopefully nothings wrong with the car and it's just my driving. I really don't want to break my rear end... Maybe I'm just being too careful with it.

Get yourself a set of Mickey T Street E T's. Nothing wrong with the power, you just don't have traction. I was launching at 7k and doing 1.5 60'. It makes a huge huge difference. The tyres fit straight on to early 16 inch rims. You need to lower the back of the car to make it stable though. The rolling radius is up on stock tyres and it upsets the handling without lowering.
