There are more threads in the nut than what is exposed by the stud(6mm); that is just design flaw. Also don't forget that although the engine is weighing down the motor mount, under any load the engine will rock side to side. The nuts on the bottom of the mount is all we have to keep everything in place. Just think of the torque the motor is making that causes it to rock back & forth. With so little threads grabbing on the nut, you're putting yourself at risk.

With the minimal engagement & additional vibration induced by the mounts, it's pretty critical to have good thread lock underneath the subframe.

Hey, guys it's Saturday night and LJ had txted me about the issue. Here in Canada it's a long weekend for us. This is unacceptable and I can't apologize enough. I'm not sure what's going on, as I do sales and customer service. However we will get to the bottom of it, I know there was about 4 more kits to go out this week from LJ's list. I'll make sure that these 4 going out have no issues. The 44mm stud vs the oem 51mm I know that the prototype used had the same ones so it shouldn't be an issue, but I will double check before they go out. The other 3 individuals that got the kits I will contact you come Tuesday when we're back at work (Kyle, Joe and Arax). As I'm camping and using a friends Ipad and don't have access to my laptop. Please do pm me if you would like, but if you don't get a response until after weekend please understand. Once again we here to support any issues and ensure that product is perfect for everyone. Have a great weekend and I'll be in touch to update everyone.

Franklin just contacted me on my cell and discussed the issue at hand. He was very apologetic and reassured me that they will get to the bottom of this and issue a fix. I appreciate the quick customer service from Avid and hoping they will pull thru. With 2 design issues remaining, we are getting closer to a final product. Avid is just as eager as us to get this issue fixed and have a working model.

It's unfortunate that these good looking mounts aren't fitting right, but hopefully at the end of the day (or month ) all will be well.

Some additional data points to help Avid with the fix.

The old brackets included locking nuts for the 2 studs

Nut is about 12mm wide

6mm thread engagement (what we have today) looks like this

The locking feature starts at 8.15mm and ends at 10.77mm relative from the bottom of the nut.

6mm engagement looks something like this:

I'm requesting AVID to make new brackets with +10mm longer studs. There's no reason to run a little stubby thread.
