I remember Chris well and I spoke to him a few times. If memory serves me well, the best he did on his build was just over 500 whp at a little over 20 psi of boost. I don't know where you are coming up with 530 whp at 14 psi, but I think its wishfull thinking.
Not to call you out either but, that is very true with the old turbo setup. When it made front cover of turbo mag that was the setup and the power. Since then he sold the car to pappy and pappy sold it to me. The newer turbo setup is runnning 530 @14psi. With the air density diffrence of tampa 10-20 ft above sea level and where I live 3500-3600 ft above sea level the car is making more power because of less resistance of air flow due to the thinner air. Just like when it is cooler your car runs better than when it is hot. Same basic princpal. Lower elevation = thicker air and higher elevation = thinner air. With the thinner air the turbo and the engine does not have to work as hard to suck air therefor it is able to create more boost in turn = more power. As of right now on race fuel the car is capable of making well over 700 horse if you wanted to push it that far. Good tune+thin air+high octane fuel= insane RWHP.

But hey the most important thing to remember no matter how much power you have there is always someone else somewhere with more!
The bonus to all of this is also that no matter where you go a car like the s2k will always be able to pick up Chicks!!!!!

Guys, this thread is a bit dumb to start with and I've already dumped a duplicate.

But the thread topic is 'fast/est turbo S2k' not 'Preach your views on drag racing'. Bring it in to line or it goes the way of the dumpster.

you find a dyno in west jefferson nc and i will go to it but for now i use the dyno at trubo tune in greensboro. approx 1500 above sea level. so to prove a dyno plot at 3500' at 14 psi no can do. as far as the air density explain why when i am at home the car runs great but when i drop off the mtn it spits sputters and lags.
if you go to www.chrisdrivesafastcar.com and click on the turbo s2k info scroll to the bottom you will see 497 at 9700 dyno plot with the old turbo setup when chris had the car. also look at the pics in the mag of the engine bay notice turbo is on top and smaller than the turbo in the pic below. You dont have to smart to know a bigger turbo will give more boost.

you know as well as i do it is useless to argue about this bs. you know what your car can do and i know what my car can do. also i am sry that i dont go around call everybody out about hp claims. if they say they have then let have it. what does it really matter anyways. in the end the car will either be stolen stripped or sold and eventually end up in a junk yard. sad but true. horsepower is not always the key to the most badass car on the street. it is 90% driver 10% car and that is a fact.

I know this engine like the back of my hand and I know turbos. I'll say it again, no way. And believe me, there is less oxygen in the air at 3500' than at sea level. It has to do with partial pressures. Why do you think people get hypoxia at high altitude. You do know about hypoxia, don't you?
