Fabricating a Bosch 044 hanger

Fabricating a Bosch 044 hanger
Recently I have been looking into fabricating my own fueltank hanger to accomodate a single Bosch 044 unit. Repeated reports of walbro + E85 failures makes me worried eventho I haven't had any problems myself.
The stock hanger has some complicated shapes for the upper disc that attaches ontop of the tank. I have not figured any good way to fabricate this as of yet. I intend to be able to use the stock rubber seal and not damage the stock hanger.
Any ideas?

the stock hanger looks abit different than my hanger, it gets me to wonder if the outer ring of the "disc" is detachable. I always took my hanger out as one unit. The car is currently up and running but i might have to pull the hanger again unless someone has an idea about the outer ring.

This post is basically a copy-post from my buildthread.

The above questions are answered, I just had mixed things up in my own head. Adding the same stuff in here incase this thread shows up from a search.
This is how the Bosch 044 looks with a stock hanger thats equipped with a walbro 255. Obviously too big.
Notice the waist on the pumps outer shell. That waist is resting ontop of the support later on.
Started off with making a 3mm stainless disc. Same thickness as the stock plastic.
Welded a ring to support the sealing just as on the stock hanger.
Fits nicely.
Made a holder for the fuel level sensor. Same placement as stock.
Added support for the fuelpump.
Just testing it together, looks promising. I am going to place the filter on the same height as stock.
So next week I will get some fittings and fabricate the last parts and then I can throw it into the tank. Should be a sweet to never again worry about a walbro that COULD break from E85.

Looks really good.
Since when have people been having issues with the Walbro's and e85? I'm running twin intank Walbro's and e85 with no problems. My tuner/friend has a 780 whp EVO and twin intank Walbro's on e85 also and he hasnt had one problem out of the pumps in 2 years now.

This in comparision to only good feedback about the 044 made me go for it. The bosch flows more aswell. Some margins are never bad.
