Phils2k has a Laskey Motor, so the sleeves are Benson, not stock.

No matter how much money you put into your engine you just can't help some things. Inline Pro, built my engine, bad tune 1 day of driving (too much timing) did this to my poor engine.

Oh and my walls looked damn near perfect to me, couldn't even feel a groove, yet upon inspection Jeremy Allen redid all of my walls stating I had damage. Luckily Inline Pro takes care of their own, or I would never have financially survived this tuner mistake (which he hasn't owned up to yet).

The blue little ends on the rods may be because they are not floating pins in the rods. Some engine setups heat the rods to expand them so you can get them over the pin. Once cooled the pins move in the pistons but not the rods.

Do any of the rods slide over the pins?

Things have got to get very hot for pins to blue like that. The little ends are relatively stationary compared to the pins and will not normally overheat. If that much heat was coming from the pistons the alloy would have started going plastic.

Oh wait wait, I have the h22a pistons and they're of the floating pin variety... are there several flavors of them?

ive read where these rods have to be heated up in order to get the piston on with the piston pin.Theres still a few things im unsure of with this build, but only one rod had the blueish purple heat stain. I thought at first these pistons were 1999+ h22 pistons, thank god i didnt order the wrong pistons for this, after gary at D-Craft told me there pre-96 pistons.. sigh of relief. When design craft originally did the original build to my motor they did it at a NA bottom end swap for your car. When the decided to throw the motor into the s13 and slap a gt28 on it, the problems began in my opinion. So forged rods and pistons are my only bet at this point.
