The GT30/71R is going to be the turbo that is going to let you keep that down low power, but not choke up top. Its a great option for those guys that want to feel like a big V6 is under the hood.

I think all the options listed above will work just fine. Another option not mentioned was just swapping out the manifold and getting a external WG if your state/ country emmisions lets you do so. So I guess just swapping out the hot side. Get a used pref...inline/ revhard manifold, WG, DP and the turbo of your choice. This would provide you with greater even more upgradablity later down the road. Comparing prices in may be just a bit more money but I think probably worth it and you can find the parts on the boards now if you keep a look out.

That's the turbo I got.

0.64 A/R - quicker spool
0.86 A/R - slightly more top end

As everyone has said, the Greddy kit is flow limited by the header and the downpipe and the T25 turbo inlet. It is what it is.

Any of these 2 turbos will make more power than the T518z overall, but don't expect miracles.

Since you mentioned you're not looking for a lot of top end, go with the 0.64 it hits 14 psi super fast and power doesn't fall off like the Greddy at the top.

The upgrade is not a simple bolt-on. I've explained everything in my thread with plenty of pics. You will need to fab up a bracket for the WG actuator and perform lots of test-fitment. If you are fairly decent at working on your car, it's not all that bad. Otherwise you'll have to have a shop do it for you. Yes, you'll need coolant lines. It's all explained in my thread. Just read it carefully and look at the pics.
Keep in mind I fabbed up a 3" dpipe - not necessary, you can still use the Greddy dpipe.

So you'll need the turbo, oil restrictor, oil line (inlet), WG bracket (custom made by you or your fabricator), coolant lines, Silicone coupler/reducer for inlet (read my thread for sizes)

What would really be the difference in spool and power between the two turbos? Like what's the difference rpm wise? I think being able to make 350hp would be icing on the cake, so would the .64 be able to do that too?

Also, how much did you end up making EngineerX?

I really can't answer about the difference in spool simply because there isn't enough data for both GT30's on Greddy kits. Also the few that have done it are setup differently and tuned differently.
My best guess is that the differece is very small, a few hundred rpm's perhaps, but it's just a guess. Like I said if your goals are for Auto-X then go for the .64

The .64 is good for close to 400. Depends on what gas you use and your tuner.
I got 350 so far on 91 octane and a fairly conservative tune.
I'm schedule for another tune soon as I was having some issues with my standalone ECU (HydraEMS - one of the first applications on the S2000, hence the issues)

I don't know how well the GT30 upgrade would do with the Greddy EMU piggyback, you'd need a good tuner that's familiar with the EMU.

when i upgraded my greddy kit i chose to do an inline pro hotside with log manifold and 5965b turbo and totally discard all of the greddy components including downpipe, ect. it is actually very easy to do this and the only real modification you will have to do is modify the small greddy intercooler pipe that connects to the turbo(cut flange off) everything else works great together!
