eBay kit

eBay kit
Yo!
I’ve read a couple eBay build threads. Specific question.
This kit says 7 sold, anyone in here one of those seven?
Turbo kit
looks comprehensive, cast manifold, fans, plumbing, oil cooler. Looks like it just needs fuel.
love my car is the city and in the twisties. Would like a little more straight line power and some boosty sounds.

I myself am going to be using a ebay kit (cx racing) although i am not using their bov, wg, or turbo though, which adds like 2k to the bill
Another option I was going to do was the straightline motorsports kit, its like 2x the cost of what you linked though.

With how expensive these engines and transmissions have become I would highly suggest against any cheap forced induction kits. There is a reason why SOS costs so much. Granted you can find a perfectly reliable used supercharger kit and achieve the same effect. Granted it might run with the kit you linked to - but the question is for how long? and if something happens - it potentially taking out the engine...
When it comes to forced induction and s2000s there 3 main factors to consider (and you can only have 2). 1) cheap 2) fast 3) reliable.

- if you want it fast and cheap - its not going to be reliable (as seen in the case of the ebay kit you linked)

agreed.
im wondering who are the people buying these kits?
I have only pieced together 1 turbo kit for an NA-t conversion. Second hand 16g6 that I cleaned, rebuilt and ceramic coated. Used Evo 3 ic plumbing and cooler. New fuel pump, fpr, cleaned and tested injectors. And a Greddy Emanage blue for tuning. Plus some gauges. After making 100hp on 93 octane, I sold the kit for around $800 (minus the Emanage and some gauges that I planned on reusing on my next project).
I hate looking at turbo kits for $$$$ when I am only looking at modest power and not using under track/race conditions.

Last point - for reliability and longevity of your s2000 + boost - I would look into a nice tuning solution. I am knocking the greddy EMS but you can find a AEM V2 for a good deal and have more flexibility when you are setting your fuel maps, and other engine protection parameters.

The cheapest I would go if buying a kit would be getting the cxracing kit without the turbo or wastegate, and getting a pulsar turbo and wastegate to put on instead. I'm actually installing this setup on a friends car right now.
Oil cooler is not needed unless you are hardcore tracking the car in hot climate. Fans stick with OEM if they fit, otherwise get Spal. Fuel get a good brand of flow matched injectors, like Injector Dynamics or FIC. Return system if you have 06+, a good regulator, biggest fuel pump you can run (Walbro 535) and rewire it yourself.
For tuning, I like maxxecu, but link is good too. Don't waste your money buying a brand new AEM, only get that old crap if you find one used for really cheap.
You'll need a clutch too, the SOS 400 is good for anything under 400 ftlbs of wtq and drives good. Anything more just get twindisc.
Overall you're still going to be spending thousands of dollars, it isn't cheap to turbo a car.
