Default E85 and Winter Stroage

Well its about that time to put the car away until next spring. I have heard different opinions about leaving E85 in the tank and fuel lines and not sure what the best solution is. I had LJ send me a 93 map and thinking about emptying fuel and running 93 octane until lines are clear and then store car as normal. Is this necessary? What are the negatives to leaving E85 in the tank? Can it affect the ID 2000 injectors if left all winter? Do you need a fuel stabilizer to leave the E85 in the tank? Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't think it gets cold enough where I live, but I am interested in this as well. I can usually drive my car year round.....hardly ever get snow in Texas.

im in MN. Few mins away from LJ actually.

I have 1/8th tank of E85 in the tank. Been sitting like that since early Sept and don't plan on touching it till Spring. Spring time comes I'm going to drain the e85. Then fill with fresh stuff. Have LJ clean my injectors for peace of mind. Should be ready to roll

Don't over think it.

You should be fine with it in the the whole winter season just change your oil. E85 in oil dont sit very well for long periods of time.

I feel ya bro....Houston weather sucks!! We get excited if we see snow here, and if it does it won't last long.

A lot of our customers do this. If you're going to store the car for the winter. Drain the ethanol out. Put gasoline in. Run the car for a bit. You're good to go.

Thanks for input and support this year with the E85 tune! I will likely do exactly this to be on the safe side.

You should be fine with just filling the tank with e85 and maybe even putting in the stabil ethanol stuff when you store it. I had 3/4 of a tank of e85 last winter when I stored mine and no stabil and no problems when I brought it out in the spring. I did start it about once a month and drove it around the neighborhood for 1/2 hr each time though.
