Do vmount setups use smaller radiators?
this goes for any car really, not really s2000 specific, but I was wondering about this as I looked under the hood of an S today. It seems like you might have to reduce the height of the radiator some, that or lay it back really far and have it extend much further into the bumper area than I realized.
Also, are vmounts usually more reserved for track only cars, as in ones that might have the air pump and even AC deleted so those lines are no longer in the way of the radiator when laid down (now we're getting s2k specific)? Do vmounts usually have fans on the radiator still? Or do those get deleted since the car probably won't see much street duty and will always have airflow over the radiator?

Hmmm, good questions.
I'd say there are no rules but I doubt you'd use the stock radiator for a vmount set up. The plastic tanks and low volume wouldn't be ideal. And the inlet and outlet and radiator cap are all wrong.
I'm pretty sure most cars using a vmount wouldn't be running the stock ECU so I expect the air pump would be eliminated already.
As for fans, if it's a truly track only car I expect they will be omitted. If it sees some road use probably not.
All that said, I bet there are examples that prove me wrong.

There was a turbo guy here that had a setup but from what I recall never got it truly running before he parted it out. But the S2000 drift car, which I think was Redbull's car at one point had a V Mount setup. Of course the drift car had ac deleted. I think with the custom line options we have moving the ac condenser around isn't that big of a deal. I think it could be doable with a ASM replica hood, and some customization. Also you could do your own radiator hoses mostly out of aluminum, which would save lots of headache trying to find normal hoses to work. I've thought about this many times over, but it seems like a LOT of work to be honest.

the ones I have seen still have the fans behind the radiator and the radiators are thick aftermarket ones. never seen one with A/C. some people put fans on the intercooler also to help suck air thru. if you do not put fans on the intercooler,it's recomended that you vent the hood or have a vented hood to help pull in the cooler air and expell the hot air. I think you need to fabricate new radiator stays, new radiator hoses and move the fill/overflow neck to the top of the radiator, but don't quote me on the last thing about the fillneck.
