Diff/Trans reliability for 500whp ?
#11
Thanks for all the replies.
* Would a boost selonoid limiting psi in 1 and 2 help with both (and the axel) ? Anything else ?
* If the tran, diff (and axel) went, what are the best ways to UPGRADE them to handle the 500-600whp ?

Boost by gear will help. Most bullet proof solution is supra trans and full blown diff kit. Comes with axles, mounts, hubs, and driveshaft . Diff not included.

Yup stock everything. But it isn't my daily well its my summer daily but I have a car for back upup. And I do drive the car spiritedly. About a year. I have a thicker different fluid. I change my diff and transfer fluid every season.

kings performance has tuned plenty of s2k with stock trans and stock diff and they have made over 620rwhp on the dyno but ofcourse they dont recommend to launch it and power shift, thats for sure..lol..i will have mines tuned by them pretty soon with stock trans and stock diff..ill see what happens...

I'm also DD with stock trans and diff. I'm putting out 540hp on a dyno pack. not sure what that power translate to the wheels but i'm doing boost by gear on the hondata flash pro. 10psi on 1st and 2nd gear and 15psi on 3rd to six gear. so far so good plus the boost by gear helps a lot with traction problems at that power level
