Default decisions

i am trying to decide as to what turbo to go with a gt 3076 or a gt 35. the turbo set is going in my daily and i want 450whp. and if i go with the 30 than the power ban will be larger and spoll quicker. but it could be kinda a dead end if i decide i want more power. it being my daily i hope that is not the case. i want it to be some what reliable. to people having a gt 35 how bad is the lag with the 35? any suggestion?

Go with the gt35

1)if your trying to make more power down the line, your already partially there , instead of swapping out turbos everytime u want more juice
2) gt35 will easily get you to 450hp, as seen with most people on this site
3) Always remember ur gonna want more power, so try and save as much $$ as u can in the process

As far as lag and certain specs on the turbo's, ill leave that for more knowledgable people..Good luck with whatever u decide to go with!

I would go with the gt35. It looks like you are going to want more power in the near future.

and what he said above!

JB5857

it will make all the power you will want on pump gas stock block.

gt35 can hit 650, but not without meth or race gas. 5857 will hit 500-525.

but if your heart is set on a garret turbo, gt35 vote here too, the spool difference is slight, but not the end of the world from the dynos i have seen on here.

i think the bigger question here is what turbo mani you gonna go with? cuase a log will make all these turbos produce less power on pump gas.

i know i dont want to go with a log because they are ugly and everyone says do it right the first time. i dont know what mani i am going to go with yet i want one that mounts the turbo up front. manily because it looks like it is the most efficiant, looks clean, and easy to work on. but wow its expensive. as far as what brand of turbo i dont care i just want quality!!

I'd just say, be careful what you wish for! I have a friend that had a 30R on his Evo, went to a 35R, and then went back to the 30R because the car was a street car and the 35R was too laggy.

Personally I would suggest that you go with a 3076 or 5857 with a .63A/R, either turbo will carry you over 500WHP on pump gas.

Here is an example of what you will be dealing with if you go to large. In this example one of the cars was set up for the steet and the other for the drag strip. They are both VERY fast but the broader torque cruve lends it's self to driving everyday.

I would use a 35R, but thats also a personal choice. Everyone likes the big power, but not everyone can deal with the lag. Your best bet is to drive a turbo car if you can. If not, decide how much power you want and what type of fuel you will run and we can help you pick the right turbo.

it is going to be on a strret/daily car and running on pump gas. main reason for that is money bneing im 18 and work at nissan lol. I personally think i would like a larger power ban because as we all know we dont have much power in the torque area.
what is the better turbo to go with the 3076 or precisions equivilent 5857 if im right? also agree on the .63a/r if i go with the smaller turbo set up
