I would think the tubular. I wonder if this is only a select few that are cracking or if they all will because I want a tubular and not a cast.

Well, I work for a company that produces the exhaust for the Ford Focus... We used to make the manifold as a tubular design. Now it has been changed by Ford to a cast manifold design. From what I have seen, the difference between the tubular and cast design is no different as far as flow goes with the exeption of the cast not being AS smooth as the tubular inside. Now what does make a difference is if the tubular manifold is equally lengthed between each exhaust port. Keeping an equal flow/pressure between chambers will increase efficiency.

Are you joking?

People, please use the search function or just read back a little bit. It's been well-established that tubular manifolds are more efficient (as in more, more whp at a given level of boost) but are also more prone to cracking.

The only tubular I trust is the Full Race, for reasons which have been done to death on this forum and elsewhere. If you go cast iron, might as well get the Inline Pro. It's not all that efficient, but it never breaks. It's also cheap - unlike the Full Race which goes for $1300.

The Greddy tubular looks like a typical cheap tubular manifold. Those *all* crack after a while. You get what you pay for.

I am wondering if anyone had tried ThermoSteel High-Temp Metal Repair?
According to the product descriptions, it is specifically designed to repair cracked manifold, exhausts and can stand up to 2400F.

if you get another greddy manifold you wouldn't need to retune, unless it was cracked during the original tune. If you swap to a diff brand manifold then yes you would need to retune.

yes i know someone that did this on his greddy kit, however the cracks might continue to the side where the welder doesn't reach. it would be best to have the weld work done w/ the manifold off of the car.
