Comptech supercharger without EMS
I have my supercharger installed with after cooler and all, but my question is the following : I don't have the ESM because it didn't came with the package (a used one). The guy said that I don't need it. What are the pros and cons of now having the ESM?

He's asking about the little black box, the Comptech ESM, which is the MAP sensor voltage clamp. YES! You do need it! It hides boost from the stock ECU. Just call up Comptech and order one.
Electric Signal Modifier
Make sure you have all the parts! Blower, pulleys, belts, ESM, and the fuel pump! Most people do not remove the fuel pump when they sell their S/C.

you can use either, but an ESM is from comptech (about 100 bucks) and an EMS is from AEM (or HKS's f-con, Greddy's emanage are also EMS's) and they run from 800 - 1500.
Alternatively, i heard you can use a VFAC to hide the boost instead of the ESM.

Well folks, I'm talking about ESM (electronic signal modifier) from Comptech. Everything is installed except for the ESM. If I don't have the ESM to hide the boost and I drive my car, what can happen? I mean, Yes I need one, but it is just for the check engine light or something else or it is for performance or critical engine safety feature? PLEASE be as clear as possible. I will finalize my setup tomorrow and since we are not in a business day, nothing is possible to buy.

KABOOOMMMM!
Is that clear enough?
Seriously though, with no ESM the ECU will see boost and pull timing and the car will go into limp mode. It'll feel like a dog.
You can probably drive under VTEC quite safely but don't go into boost.
