Comptech SC stock air filter

Best I could find for the AFE filter shown in the pic above was $68 free ship from Amazon. Not the cheapest filter, but I’m impressed with it. I've run the K/N drop in filter for years and though similar, the AFE seems a notch up in quality. It’s bigger then the CT foam filter with more filtration area and effectiveness, it should offer the same or better breathing. It snugly fits in the stock CT box no problem
I wanted better filtering over the CT foam filter, which is what drove me to switch. My oil condition was just not lasting long enough for the miles. I run a custom snorkel into the box from the front grill so it collects allot more dirt then normal, so I wanted the best filter available that still breathes good.

Yes, I explored the AFE a long time ago and posted the P/N of an inverted filter that fits PERFECTLY into the Comptech box.
Foam filters are "shit" and dont be fooled into thinking any filter is going to give you any gains, especially when you are FI. Filtration and reliability are must more important, IMO, than 1-2 pony on the butt dyno.

BTW Junky, can you send me some pics or show me your custon snorkel?
My primary concern now is heatsoak on the aftercooler.... now if only I could solve that issue in the summers.
Im looking at the SoS heat exchanger upgrade. Its a much larger radiator and a stronger pump with a better plumbing configuration. It even seems like I can stick a smal fan or two to keep the exchanger temps down.

And just fyi, I mentioned possibly losing 5-10whp with this filter in that thread, but I don't feel that’s accurate now that I’ve had more drive time on it in different weather environments. If anything it flows the same or better. I think having that extra center filtered area is important vs the old models that don’t.

Junkeh!!! Pics or BAN!! I knew it, you bought that 3200.00 dolla Mugen snorkel didnt ya.
Actually its not really visible because it is attached from the center rib of the grill up to the radiator frame mount. You need to remove that side of the plastic radiator plate to do this.
