All foam type filters (Comptech) and cotton/gauze type filters (K&N) are cleanable and re-usable. Get the Comptech cleaning kit and following the instructions.

You can also replace it with an AFE cloth filter (24-55505)...like a K&N...

The difference between foam and gauze is minimal.

- Foam filters better but needs to be clean often.

- Gauze flows better but the filtration is not as good as foam.

Both are better than paper filters, so no matter what you pick you are ahead.

AEM uses K&N type filters (if not actually K&N filters).
