Hey guys, especially AP2 owners, how much more exciting is the car with the Comptech aftercooled kit installed?... Is it really worth it?

Yes, especially in hotter climates. I started without it and noticed the 10 to 15 hp increase Comptech advertises when I added it later. In the summer my throttle response improved as well.

Without it and especially in the summer, the air intake tube after the SC was seriously hot to the touch. After installing the AC, it never gets hot enough to where you can't keep you hand applied to the AC unit. Just to give you an idea of how much cooler the air going in will be.

I can tell you that the biggest difference is that the time is vtec is a split second less due to the lower redline........

The difference is made up by the smaller pulley and the extra .2 liters. 04's get there boost more evenly throughout the powerband. Still no turbo but just like the 04 stock has a more smoother transition and consistent powerband. This is becomes more pronounced with the kit.

If you really want the extra 700rpms back just get a VAFC and drop the VTEC.

I would say that you get more from the bolt on kit on an 04 and above than you do with the 03 and below.

You guys will enjoy the Comptech very much. I thought long and hard between a Comptech vs. Turbo, and don't regret it one bit. I've got 25k on the charger now and it still runs great. There are plenty of options if you want to squeeze out some more hp.
