Default clutch for turbo

im getting ready to install my ILP turbo kit...im going to be running 10 psi which should put me about 375-400hp...obviously i am goin to need a new clutch...i was going to go with the ACT heavy duty/street kit but after doing some reading it seems that the ACT kit can cause crankwalk...so i was looking at comp clutch stage 2 or stage 3 kit and clutchmasters stage 2 or stage 3 kit...just wondering if anybody has had any luck with these? or any recommendations for a clutch kit that isnt over $750? also i was looking into purchasing a new flywheel...any recommendations? i was thinking about going with a fidanza flywheel...

the competition clutch seems to be the best bang for your buck. They support great power, they last a long time and dont cause any problems that i have ever heard of.

ok, ACT crankwalk debate aside, no matter whether you believe their PP causes crankwalk or not, they are in the process of creating a new pp so ACT can still be an option depending on when it comes out and how fast you need it. i'd contact ACT if you're still interested to find out when it will be ready.

i run competition and I'm happy, however I purchased their staged kit with clutch and fly together, if you plan on comfotably daily driving stick with the stock flywheel and maybe have it resurfaced (cheap like $20) at a machine shop while your housing is apart, I have the stage 4 clutch which is a 6 puck unit and I wish I had gone a step down, I don't need all the grip this clutch provides since I'm only making 350hp or so,

that being said I really think competition is the best bang for the buck out there! When my clutch pedal is released there is no slipping, it's either together or its not.

i've used clutchmasters on a boosted car before and it holds up well. You might wanna check out SPEC clutch also. I've been in a 500whp s2000 with a spec clutch, help up extremely well

I have the competition clutch stage 4 6 puck as well. I like it but it can be tough to drive in stop and go. It really grabs, I hate step hills and stop lights.

for your power output, i would reccomend either the competiion clutch disc clutch or the clutchmasters stage 3 my CM stage 3 is holding my pwoer and i have shifted pretty damn hard with it.

really, you should only do the puck clutch if your making 500hp+. its a tq thing, if yoru never going to make ebough tq why do it. 500 hp s2ks make 350+tq. your gona be at 300ish tq. well within the range of the two clutches i think you should do.

good luck.

i would shy away from the act only for the s2k cause they are redesigning the pressure plate for a reason
