Default CLUTCH SETUP IDEAS

hello, in new to the turbo game and its been a really bumpy road, and now ive come across this issue.
ive been reading up on the clutch setups for turbo s2ks and seems like the popular one is act hd pp + oem disk + ap1 flywheel.
people been saying that it can hold up to 400tq. anyone here running this setup and able to do more without slipping? or have their turbo s2k clutch setup differently.
if u can please list ur hp, tq, how long u had it in there, type of setup. thank you

and 1 stupid question, oem disk = 4 puck and disk right?
and would it be bad to pair it up with a 11pound flywheel ?

this setup is good for what you are looking for. some people have made over 500hp.

I was debating on a clutch since i'm going turbo this summer. It was either an ACT Hdpp with OEM disc or Comp stage 4. I went with the comp stage 4 only because I was worried the ACT/OEM combo would hold up to 500whp. Although i know it will be more of a pain to drive around the streets with a 6-puck clutch. If you have the money the Competition twin clutch would be the best.

But to answer your quetion the OEM disc is not a 4 puck. It's just a regular full face clutch disc. and yes the AP1 flywheel is around 11lbs.

What's the benefit of an ap1 flywheel over ap2 (in an AP2).

I have an 05 and was thinking Same thing act hdPP, oem disc, and AP1 flywheel

Ap1 is lighter so you free up more power to the wheels.

I have ap2 with ap1 flywheel. Throttle response improved a lot. Other then that nothing. But def worth it. Rev matching on down shifts is way easier.

also, wondering if ACT upgraded their pressure plate, since there is so much chatter about crankwalking.

Apparently they upgraded their pressure plates a while back (from what I've just read after hours of searching for a decent replacement for my clutch).

Reported issues of crank walking were the result of other engine related problems as well

The OEM disk and ACT PP is good to just under 400 wheel torque and feels great (very similar to stock). Stock disc is full face, not a puck style. If you go higher you can get a puck but I hate the way they feel and don't feel they should be used in a street car. If I got to that point, I'd just go twin disc. This link here is in the Forced Induction stickies at the top of the section, you can see torque levels for different setups. On our cars, you won't make more then 400 until you're around 580hp depending on the kit. So that clutch package will cover you for the most part.

ACT had crankwalk issues with a few cars but that has long since been fixed.
