Clutch
Hi guys,
I'm having some trouble choosing a new clutch. Hopefully somebody here can advise me
http://www.advancedclutch.com/catalo...B20%5D=3000106
I have read as many reviews and experiences as I could find, and found out that an ACT kit will be the better option... full face preferred, due to the softer engagement than a 4 or 6 puck clutch. Our gearboxes and diffs wouldn't like a hard clutch grab, so I rather be able to slip the clutch a little.
Is it really that hard to slip a sprung 6 puck clutch for a soft take off?
The full face HD clutches hold up to 370tq says the ACT website.... 4 and 6 pucks up to 475.
Is 370tq enough for a turbo setup that produces about 500hp? (we use different measures here in Europe, and I'm not really sure what kind of torque numbers a nice turbo setup produces )
Or is it the wiser choise to buy the sprung 6 puck clutch kit, just to be sure that it will hold, if I make some changes/upgrades to my setup in the future?
Thanks for the assist!
Gr. Jasper

I've posted about this a couple times recently, but I daily drive a CC Stage 4 6 puck clutch and have no issues. Took me a couple weeks to really get used to it, but now after about 3K miles it's hardly any more difficult to maneuver than the OEM clutch...
I can still take off pretty smoothly in stop and go traffic.

The only single disc aftermarket clutch I would recommend is the act Hdss. It will drive like stock with a heaver clutch pedel. Any single disc puck style clutch will hurt street drivability. If you want more that 550whp and more power an act Hdss will hold your only options are a twin disc if drivability is important to you.

I may have to try the ACT HDSS after my CC Stage 4 wears out. I'm only making 486whp and 337wtq, but that's on a mustang dyno (not really sure if that matters or not) The first time i tried driving with the Stage 4 i actually spun the tire really good just trying to get moving in first. That thing grabs and goes! It's not that bad after you get use to it though. Took me maybe 3 times to drive it normally.

Would you guys recommand CC over ACT?
From what I've heard, CC isn't all that.
If it is just a matter of getting used to the 6 puck clutch, to be able to slip it, I think I will go with that. This way I don't have to worry about my clutch in the future, if I want some more HP.
How are your diffs and tranny holding up with these clutches?
