Changing pulley on comptech SC
How do you change the pulley on a comptech supercharger? I am installing the kit for the first time and an 8psi pulley is currently installed. I want to switch it out for the stock pulley but I am stumped on how to get the 8psi one off. the pulley just turns when I try to get it off with a wrench. Any ideas?
thanks

...Or a belt wrench like you would use to grip an oil filter. Remove the SC belt so you can wrap the belt strap from the wrench around the pulley to hold in place with one hand and then loosen the bolt with a standard wrench or socket on the pulley.
Not sure how you would fit an impact wrench in the 2" gap between the valve cover and pulley

Well I don't have the blower on yet. I was going to see if i could get a big enough strap wrench to go around the pulley and see if that works but if not i have no clue.

Well since the blower is off the car, it will be more difficult to hold with the strap wrench and you obviously will be able to fit an impact wrench on there so do that. After the blower is on the car then the strap wrench is what to use.

I usually take a big pair of channel locks or oil filter wrench and a strip of old rubber serpentine belt, work nicely but works better with two people. Btw, I've just slide the blower forward and left it on the car. Had to shift aftercooler out of way though.

Ok. I got a new strap wrench but I haven't been able to get it off. It is on there really good. Even with the breaker bar + cheater bar combo I used for the crank pulley I can't get it off. I will try to find someone to help me try to get it off and If I can't I guess I could bring it to a place and have them use an impact wrench. I have a buddy who has one but he lives about an hour away. I just skipped the blower part of the install and will come back to it when I get the new pulley on. If it do.

I got it off with the help of a second person. It was on there good. The pulley is still stuck on though. I guess I will need to use a harmonic balancer.
