CARB Legal, MY2007?
Okay here is the thing, I just had an epiphany.
I dont need to get my car smogged until the year 2013.
So why should a person with a newer MY S2k worry about being Smog Legal?
Seriously, I was really worried about being CARB Legal because i did not want to have problems (with smog test) but i just realized that i dont need a smog check until the year 2013 and by that time i will have paid off my car and it will be sold!
So is there any other reason why i can have a badass turbo kit or SC kit that all of you other people around the country seem to be enjoying.

Any cop can ask to see your engine.
It's happened to me on on 2 S2Ki canyon runs- one in Malibu, and one in Angeles Crest.
I was asked what engine mods I have, and if my exhaust is modified. Then I was asked to start the car and rev it to 6K so he could hear how loud it was. One of those times I got a ticket for no front plate, and the other time I got a nice compliment on the car.
I only have a PRM intake and custom exhaust, but neither of them is Cali legal.
It may depend on the location where you get the ticket, but I don't think it's just a fine. You may have to remove the illegal items to get the ticket written off.

the question was already answered. eventhough he doesn't have to smog his car until 2013, he can still get sent to the state referee at any time, where he will have to get smogged. Being smog legal in CA is a pretty big deal...
