Cars that are 2000 and newer don’t get tested on the Dyno and don’t get tested with the sniffer. So tail pipe Emissions are not tested. You just have to pass the visual test and they plug into to the cars obd port to make sure it’s not throwing any codes. And the car will pass

the issue with the s2000 is that it was not boosted stock and the stock Computer is not tunable. So most of us that are boosted run an after market computer like an aem ems which completely stops the obd port from even working so we’re screwed.

This is is why stock turbo cars are great. My old evo and my bmw 335i all make over 600whp and run on e85 with no cats and they pass smog. They have stock appearing aftermarket turbos and they all run on the stock ecu. So they pass the visual and the obd test. With a turbo s2000 you will have to just do an illegal smog.

I'm looking at buying a used CT-E charger and it looks like the mounting plate does not have the CARB engraving that the Comptech chargers did. This would be going on my 03 and I'm not too concerned about any additional power other than what the 1200 is providing with a simple pulley. It looks like the CTE is more difficult to smog due to the lack of the carb engraving. I don't see a carb sticker on the charger or the box that connects to the throttle body. Anyone have any experience with the CTE chargers and smog? It looks like I would just need to take the car and paperwork, but I'm not sure.

My CTE kit has a carb number on the mounting plate. Maybe you can just paint/engrave it on there yourself

When I purchased CT SC, it did not come with the "block box" or ACM unit. When I had the SC installed and got a tune, everything worked fine. Then when it came to smog, I had it detuned, but I couldn't pass smog because OBDII sensor fails to turn on. It took a long time wondering what the issue was and finally decided to unplug the SC and delink Hondata. That was finally when I was able to pass smog.

I was unaware of how important the ACM unit may be. Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase the device, because I think it holds the add on program linked to stock ECU and keep senors operating properly.

I do not wish to continue this process every smog check.

Any other advice would help. Otherwise I may consider going back to NA.

Thanks in advance!

Try contacting Shane from autowave inc in Huntington Beach. He might still have some boxes.
