Default buying 02 s2k, then buying comptech SC

alright im going to be buying a 2002 ap1

and my first mods r ofcourse volks/tein/project mu

but i wanted to then supercharge via comptech.

my concerns are.. i dont wanna "build" my engine up.. but i still want to maintain a healthy engine so i was gonna leave the pulley the same.. i think comes 5.5psi?

and then do ACT clutch
and then i saw someone had reinforced differential?

i saw comptech makes this.. is their good and/or who also makes a reinforced differential.

id rather go ahead and buy it now and be happy later. also..what other modifications would i need (the little things)

catch can i heard would be needed.. but what else

thank you guys for helping, ive read this forum alot and read peoples' posts who have comptech but none go into details.

dont be scared, im not doing installs myself i have a honda engine guru in NC, id ask him exactly what to do but hes really busy lately plus its always better to ask people who actually have the kit,

thank you for your time,

riley

If you want to sell the car in a few years with a healthy motor, then IMO stick with the pulley it comes with. You can upgrade to 7 or 8 without upgrading injectors or tuning and it can be reliable. However, the more boost that you run with 11:1 compression, there will be more wear on the motor. In your shoes, I would go with the Comptech kit w/ aftercooler,Apexi AFC, header, exhaust and a little tuning. If you don't mind more possible wear and tear on the motor, then go with my mods. With any car, when you add more boost, tuning is key.

You might be around 285whp give or take. For exhaust it depends on what tone and how loud you want it to be. For header I went with DC because I got it used for cheap. Comptech has great header and exhaust that are carb legal but are kind of costly. Yes, I meant the V-AFC. As far as ecu, Comptech provides everything you will need with there kit unless you want to go with 9psi +. Also, I am a newbie when it comes to S2000s but I have done my research and that is where my advice is coming from. Just bought all my mods a few weeks back so I don't have to much personal experience to go off of. If you go with those mods, you should be satisfied and retain a strong motor. Also, if you plan on selling your S in the near future, I would try and go with good condition used parts since you will never get your $$$ back when you sell so used parts will help take some of the hit.

i own a shop... so i get cost on everything.. so thats not an issue i just wanna act like i know what im talking about when i order it.. and once i drive the car to my install guy so he can do what he needs to.

a friend of mine said somethoung about vafc is only needed for n/a cars but idk what he means.. u got an s2k so u know

and with the kit it comes w/ ecu upgrade for the recomended 5.5 pulley which i will be using..

so in a nut shell

SC kit a/ aftercooler
ACT clutch
comptech reinforced rear end
comptech header/exhaust (i might swap i dont like LOUD gives me migraines)
apexi VAFC

and im done.. except for install/dyno

Whats up man welcome to S2ki...I don`t have a supercharger but if you want to be safe I have read enough post when I was decided on Turbo or Supercharger. I am going Turbo but thats besides the point. For a supercharger my setup was going to be....

Comprech S/C/After cooler

Toda or J`s Racing Header (The have large piping)

Js Racing Exhuast

Apexi VAFC

ACT Clutch (acutally check www.Hardtopguy.com) he has verry good pakage deals and also has the charger for about 4K

And I just read a thread about the 02 Ecu making the car lean out a bit better and helping with power. So if things fall threw with the 02 and you have to get an 00 or 01 I would get the 02 ECU

P.S.
Also look around your area because some Honda Dealerships will still warent your car if they install it

Peace-John
