There are many choices out there, but all depends on your budget.

First I would recommend that you decide on whether you want to keep the diff that comes with the car and upgrade the internals or do a diff conversion.

For your power, go with PuddyMod stage 2.

agree, just fix it once it breaks then get a puddy mod or another one. If your gonna drag all the time then get the inline pro one or look into the 8.8 rear option

I agree with the above, Puddydaddy rebuilt has never worked better for your app, but if you plan to drive like a 16yr old with an adrenaline junky tendancy then save a sh%t ton of cash up and buy the inline pro r200 diff, simply because it gives you a new drive shaft, axles, and mount for the r200. i plan to get a puddydaddy just because i dont launch my car at all, just want something sturdy. the inline pro conversion has much stronger components and comes with the stronger axles, so over all its expensive, but a decent buy. (just incase you feel like building up, know what s2k from hell is running the inline pro at 760+/- hp and it holds well.

Budget and intended use is a factor you have good options
InlinePro makes a nice kit to install the Nissan R200 in your S2000. The R200 is a nice fit with less compromise than installing the Ford 8.8. The Ford 8.8 is a great rear but is heavy and very large to compare. To install one into a daily driver S2000 is a lot of work if you want to do it right. Ground clearance and an out of balance car are the 2 issues to deal with.
If your car is just for drag racing then the Ford 8.8 is an option.

If your car is going to be used as a driver and for drag racing the R200 is a better fit option for the total conversion choice, if that is your choice. The R200 does cost more to upgrade or rebuild than the Ford 8.8 but in my opinion that is the only advantage over the R200.
Most times the R200 you buy will not need any work done to it for you to be able to use it most times it’s plug n play. Upgrades and changes only come as your needs grow with the car.

I provide a rebuild of the factory differential this is another option for you as well. Depending on intended use and needs a modified factory differential unit maybe a better fit for you and your S2000.

There are good vendor sponsors here on the site that provide a nice product and good service.
Using one of the supporting vendors is also a smart choice because you have recourse if you are dissatisfied with the product you buy
InlinePro or my self is you top choices for a quality product!!

The 8.8 in our car with the right gear ratio feels exactly like stock. If you drove my car, you wouldn't even know that it has been converted unless I told you. Our customers have said the same thing.

I forgot to mention these are street cars.

Completely agreed.

Don't do burnouts 24/7 and it will be fine.
