Blown rear diff.
Hey, I am looking to go Forced Induction in a few months and I just blew my rear diff. last night. I was wondering what's the best setup, housing, gears, totally built? Thanks for any help.

Comptec makes a reinforced differential...Seeing how you blew your diff you will have to buy it outright. Expect to pay 700-800 for the unit with no core discount. If you were planning on changing out the gears...take advantage of the fact that you have no choice but to replace now...Go with 457 final drive...I'm sure you will love it..but reserch them all...they make 477 ratio final drives that are much more extream compared to the 457's...Yeah you may get better acceleration, but without the perfect launch...with the forced induction you are planning on running the short gears may be too much..You could find yourself spinning and shifting more then nessesary. Good luck

I will start sourcing an engineer towards the end of july/Aug to start the project.

^ they look similar but the mounting points are completely different
the diff's axle flanges are the same; 5 holes
The shop my car is at has a CAD program for the rear mounting bracket for the S13 diff. They also have a CNC machine on site. I suggest that you should sell your R33GTST diff + prop shaft and buy a JDM S13 diff. All you need to order are
-front and rear mounting brackets
-a custom flange to hook up the s2k prop shaft to the S13 diff
-2 billet axles (connects the stock outer CV to your r33 inner CV joints)
It will prob save you a lot of money and time.
Just my 2 bobs

I'll let you know when I get my car back, hopefully this week.
They have been too busy to work out an export or individual part price(s) at this stage.
Fred, one thing you can do to speed up the process is to source a pair of r33 GTST inner cv joints. Otherwise I can help you with that over this side of the wood but it may incur extra freight cost.
