Blown OEM radiator
Hey everyone-
Well, I discovered the source of why my thermostat was acting like the system was not properly bled... The top plastic radiator cap for the OEM radiator has cracked (not low enough to generate a pool/puddle, though).
I am now going to go Koyo + FAL fans (need to retain OEM radiator + fan thickness, as my IC pipe is RIGHT there now). I think the Koyo + FAL combo is actually slightly thinner than OEM (stock fan housings are thick as hell).
Here are some pics of the crack:
Has anyone else cracked their OEM radiator? I have not read a single thread on it since I started researching FI 2+ years ago....
Later!

thats my setup now, a koyo rad and FAL fan
Just confirming it will fit. If not, customization time!
FAL fans already ordered. Waiting to hear back from forum sponsors on the Koyo.

Radiators on all models (Civic, Accord, RL, Integra, etc.) crack and leak at about the 10 year mark. Some last 12 yrs. some only 8 yrs. but 10 is the average. And it is not only Hondas. Toyotas, Nissans, Mazdas, etc. do the same thing. The tanks are constantly expanding and contracting during heat cycling. They become brittle with time and eventually crack.
