If the dump tube is found to be the root cause for this signficant power loss (which is attributed primarly to the fact that the boost is going down 2-3 psi) then I will most like go back to an externally vented dump tube. I really want to internally dump the wastegate because the car is so much quieter, but I am only willing to lose 10-15rwhp from this mod. It may turn out that simply connecting the dump tube farther down the downpipe is the answer.

maybe your wastegate needs to be bigger or have heavier spring on it.

it could be the tuning after all.

The wastegate/spring has nothing to do with this issue as the boost was not dropping prior to mod'n the dump tube and installing a different exhaust. The problem lies with one (or both) of those mods.

I don't think you can attribute the boosting cutting out to tuning--Shawn Church is a more than capable tuner and spent a good deal of time tuning the car and was unable to prevent the boosting from dropping.

Well, my S2000 is going back into the shop tomorrow for the following work:

1. AEM fuel rail installation
2. New dump tube--will be externally vented
3. Turbo will be re-clocked 180 degrees (outlet facing down instead of up)
4. New hot-side charge pipe (will be routed underneath the cross-member vice through the front fender well in order to make room for the battery relocation)

Also, I have been talking to Full-Race about having them make me an exhaust when they go to install their manifold. Their initial recommendation is a 4" main pipe to two 3" secondary pipes!

Yes it is, and I am concerned with the fact that, while it may make more horsepower, torque will suffer. I am also concerned with excessive noise and ground clearance. However, these guys are experts in the automotive industry and if they think that my concerns area non-issue then I may have to take their word for it.
