[QUOTE=Sideways,Jan 21 2007, 09:04 AM] I lost 50 rwhp with the very restrictive 3-1/2 inch to 3 inch prototype.

Man you're changing things so fast that I think it would be impossible to set some baseline and figure out what works best.
The only time I've changed more than one thing at a time before dyno'ing is with this Sparrow exhaust and the dump tube mod. Every other time I had the car dyno'd to determine the difference.

Prior to having the Full-Race turbo manifold installed I will have the car dyno'd to obtain a baseline and then have it dyno'd again immediately following the installation. I will do the same thing when I have the custom intake manifold made.

Phil,

You're losing me here--in the thread you made a while back you posted a dyno graph showing that you made a significant amount of power with the 3 1/2 to 3 inch exhaust--didn't you? And, how is that exhaust in any way restrictive?

your ehaust is prob too small now and can't handle the extra gasses you are forcing through your exhaust. Put the bigger exhaust on there and vent the dump tube back to the atmosphere, its not that loud, until you hit boost, who the hell wants to boost and not here that hhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh, thats my most favorite part of being turbo

My intention is to get a larger exhaust, regardless of whether the Sparrow is actually at fault here. Concerning dumping the wastegate to the atmosphere, I live in California and am very concerned about attracting too much unwanted attention. Prior to mod'n my dump tube, it was very loud under WOT. It is nice a quiet now, and I intend to keep it that way.

The first 3-1/2 to 3 exhaust with the sound cancelling technology was all plugged up.
We then went with a free flowing 3-1/2" to 3" to see what was possible. Now we are working on something that won't cause deafness.

I am still confused here Phil. You either posted this in your thread, or PM'd be about it, that you made significant gains with the larger exhaust. I believe you also stated that the only reason you didn't go with that exhaust was it was too loud. I also believe Shawn told me about the huge gains you made. Regardless of which exhaust it was, didn't you have a 3 1/2" / 3" exhaust that made big time rwhp gains?

Something reasonable for the SC guys might wind up quieter than stock for the turbo guys. I would love to see something like that. Especially if it was 3.5" into dual 3" and then onto dual stock (or stock appearing) tips. Nothing better than something fast that doesn't advertise for blocks/miles.

I just picked up about 30 hp by ditching my Skunk2 exhaust and getting a custom single exhaust fabricated. I should have before and after graphs this time next week.
