The water pump relay has four wires coming out of it. One goes to the white/red +14V wire on the air pump relay. One goes to the switched power connection on the interior fuse box. One goes to the hot power wire on the water pump, and one goes to a ground lug.

The air pump is only turned on by the ECU during cold starts, but that white/red +14 wire is a constant power source. So you do still need the water pump relay and therefore still need the wire going into the interior fuse box switched power terminal.

I was just saying you can remove the air pump relay and pull that constant +14V power direct from the connector that normally connects to the air pump relay instead of hooking onto the terminal of the air pump relay. Just a different way to connect into that white/red wire that allows you to remove more air pump crap.

Ah, understood. With the SoS kit they have you pulling it straight from the interior fuse box. I took issue with that when I wanted to have my AEM Serial gauge come on with the car - I ended up wiring it to the switched power source for the accessory lights. I may dive back in there one day and wire it and the pump together properly so both come on with the car.
