Default Apexi turbo timer on Supercharged S?

Is there any benefit to have one. I know it is important to cool your turbo and engine with a turbo application but how about with a supercharger? It was nice to have when I had one on my fd3s rx7. Anyone here use one? Here is a link where someone is using one.

That's why it's called a turbo timer.

I thought so. I know superchargers run alot cooler than turbos but just want to see if anyone is running one and why. Thanks for the input.

Since the SC isn't spinning with the engine off, there is no reason to use one.

what? The turbo doesn't spin with the engine off either. The turbo just has hot exhaust air running through it and the S/C does not. If the oil isn't allowed to run through the turbo to cool it down a little it will damage the turbo.

The S/C doesn't get nearly as hot you can still put your hand on it after hard runs, whereas on a turbo you can't even put your hand near it without feeling a lot of heat.

Sorry dude, The wheels in the turbine are still spinning after you shut the engine off. The turbo is not mechanically linked to the crankshaft like a SC. A turbine wheel spinning at 20,000+ rpm doesn't stop moving when you shut the motor off, it take a while for it to slow down. Turbo timers are used to allow a cool down period for the turbine, and to prevent from cooking the oil in the turbo at shutdown.

exhaust gases >>>>> engine oil temp

the turbo center cartridge is insanely hot well after the turbo has finished spinning.
