Default Ap2 vortech v2 kit on an ap1?

I want to put a vortech v2 supercharger kit on my ap1 s2000. i can get a kit almost new for 2500. I called vortech to ask them what the differences between the ap2 and ap1 kit is, and they said the pulley size is larger on the 2.2L. Has anyone attempted this, or know the differences or parts I will need to make it work? Thank you.

It will work fine. Totally compatible. You will net about 1 more psi due to your extended rpm from the ap1. But shouldn't have a problem calibrating the extra fuel needed with the supplied equipment.

The ap2 pulley is actually smaller to produce more boost to compensate for the lower 8k rev limit. Smaller pulley will spin the blower faster making more boost just fyi.

So everything else bolts right in where its supposed to? Do you think this is a decent price without engine management?

Isn't the timing box also different for AP2? Thought it was. $2500 sounds like a good price.

^ The vortech electronics can be manually changed with the help of a multimeter and adjusting something on it. I forget but there was a thread on it.

I have the Electronics and pulley for an AP1 and can swap for your AP2 stuff if you cover shipping.

I bought an ap1 kit for my ap2. but Im running an ems and a smaller pulley so those things didnt bother me.

That would be awesome if we could swap. Should I keep the ap2 pulley since it makes more power? Or do you need it?

When you say "electronics" do you mean the engine management system it comes with?

Sorry i dont know much about fthe kit... When you say "electronics" do you mean the engine management system it comes with? Do they normally come with one?

Yes there is a "black box" which retards a little bit of timing up top in the rpm and clamps the map sensor from seeing boost. As far as 00-05 goes this should be identical, but I could be mistaken there. I run a comptech and am most familiar with this system. I know the ap2 kit also has a 5th injector set up the ap1 kit doesn't, and this is to help supply the added fuel needed since the f22 and smaller pulley requires fuel at a lower rpm and the conmptec chooses to not do this but give you an adjustable fpr insteed which I think is more practical and easy to dial in, you can acquire one of these and use it on your set up if you wanted. The black box Vortech uses for the ap2 kit may control this injector if you use it, but im, not sure. Regardless, all these external things can be left off ofr changed to run on your ap1 should you choose to run it that way, the basic bolt on kit is all the same and capatible. All you need is the rising rate fpr to supply the fuel and the box that clamps the map sensor. Obviously you want to run a wideband to confirm your running safe afr. $2500 is a good deal if everything is sorted and in good shape.

Well, the only reason I said swap pulleys is because the smaller ap2 pulley would make more than stock boost. The blackbox isn't really meant to do more tha run stock boost.

Should you plan on ever getting a smaller pulley and running an engine management system, ap1 / ap2 it doesnt matter, the most important parts are identical for 00-05.

Most people delete the 5th injector so your kit may or may not have it.

As for the vortech black box, you could technically hold on to your own and just make a voltage adjustment and make it work for your ap1 if im not mistaken.
