Default AP2 valve springs and retainers

I've done some search and come to see that AP1 needs to be upgraded but heard nothing much about the AP2. I'm turboing and just wondering if I gotta upgrade this anyway. If so, what brand should I go for?

searching has led you to believe that springs and retainers must be upgraded in order to turbo an AP1?

I have AP2 retainers on my SC AP1, no problems. Ti retainers have to be inspected and replaced more often, PITA if you ask me.

i would only upgrade retainers if you have found your ap1's to have sunk, which means they have cracked... especially if you have had an over-rev! I wouldn't upgrade them if you haven't though!

Okay I decided to keep the AP2 retainers and ordered a set of Skunk2 dual valve springs.

According to some vendors that build heads (alainz / Laskey), they say thats a myth. Im not sure if its a sales ploy or not.
