AP1 owners...Are you using AP2 retainers?
Just trying to get a general consensus of how many Ap1 owners actually do/done this, as well as an idea of the conditions our Ap1 retainers are on any given mileage.
So If you've changed out your retainers please state the approx mileage & conditions, including FI miles, in which you found your retainers to be in.

i replaced all of them on my car.. i actually caught 3 broken retainers before they dropped the valves..you can have someone install them on the car without removal of the head. i did over rev the car a few times, it had 82k on it when i inspected them..im sure they were cracked before then..it is by far a great investment and cheap

If you guys are running the car hard I would recomend that you look into a valve spring and retainer combination. They can be changed on the car and it is not that hard to do. The money spent is cheap insurance.

not F/I, but i changed my for precautionary reasons (misshifted once).
Once I got everything change (intake and exhaust sides), my ap1 retainers looked good.
Better safe than sorry i guess.
