AP1 intake with AP2 exhaust cam
Hey guys, I have been searching and found many discussions about this, but I have not found a definite answer. Is it best to use an AP1 intake cam with an AP2 exhaust cam? Has anyone actually done it? I will be running a custom built tubular sidewinder manifold with a 6262. Will this work well with my setup?

It didnt seem to matter much with my sidewinder, may have moved power band down a couple hundred rpms.
If I could go back, I wouldnt have changed it.

I have an Ap2 motor with the ap1 exhaust cam or intake cam which ever it is, and on the dyno I didnt make any power when going past 8000rpm so instead off going to 9000rpm I just kept it at 8500rpm
As you can see the engine stops making power at like 7800rpm so there is no point in going to 9000rpm.

there is just a few horse power differance, heck i even have tried the off set key ways, and they didn't do much at all. so uless you are max out is a certian race class i don't think it is worth the cost or effort

Changes were built head, 70mm tb, slightly better/larger dp. Would have to ask tuner for dynos, but not any huge changes in numbers, ie, less than 5whp at peak.

I did this back when i had a log manifold and I found no real changes. I did find i lost a couple MPG when i had the AP1 intake cam on compared to straight AP2 cams on my AP2 motor.
