Default Anyone get cold feet before install/tune?

So my car has been at my installer's for a month now. It's been taking so long (had to order little things here and there and he's a really busy guy) and it's getting to the point where I get scared that I'm going to blow my motor up once I get it back! I don't mean this from an incorrect installation standpoint, as he really knows his stuff and follows all directions/torque specs by the book, but I feel like the motor is just going to blow up and I'm going to have to dump 4k into another motor!

I guess it could be similar to what someone would feel the day of their wedding and get scared. I know my parts are good, I've done research and know everything should go smoothly. But when you're adding 250 horsepower to a car, it just seems like you might get scared at the last minute (I am ).

I think it's just because the install has been dragging so long and the anticipation is building up. Anyone else go through this?

Supposedly it'll be done by Monday though...

I got cold feet, but only because of the puddle in my garage.

Damn, I could never pay someone else to do this stuff and not know what was going on myself.

I wish I knew how to do it on my own I can do easy bolting stuff like diff swaps and whatnot, but there's no way I could change a clutch or install a headgasket.

He calls me every other day and keeps me updated though

yeah, I've been there. I blew my rings awhile back, which did a bunch of damage to the motor, and I decided that if I was looking at spending thousands of dollars to get her on the road again, I may as well fully build the motor. Well that took me an entire year to do, due to finances. So my car was down for an entire year. By the time I finally got her running and delivered to the tuner... well let's just say I didnt get much sleep that week. All I was thinking was the motor was going to blow on the dyno. But once they called me and told me that the tune was done and how much power it was making, all was well.

i was thinking the same things when i got my car tuned recently. i went over things in my head and stared at the car to make sure everything was ok. i didn't get very much sleep at all the night before the tune. if you are confident in your installer and tuner then i wouldn't worry about it. i got mine tuned this past tuesday and now that its done and i am making some decent power its been one of the best weeks of my life!
