I would have wanted one when I had my comptech. The elbow would rub really easily on the fan shroud. However, I believe the updated ones are under $60 if ordered from comptech.
Are they the silicone ones or polished metal ones you can order from them?

Wouldnt polished metal absorb more heat from the engine bay?

I doubt it would be anything noticeable but I am also considering a ceramic coating that has a polished look. Also available in a flat black ceramic finish.

I'm interested. What do you anticipate it would cost?

Really not sure as I have just started looking into. I would think the elbow would be in the vicinity of like $50 or something. The full replacement elbow for Vortech with couplers probably more towards 100 with everything needed.
If I do make these and I am able to get them ceramic coated that would drive the cost up but should help out with intake temps I would think.

I believe they're the silicone ones.

Make sure you get a 4 inch radius 4 inch 6061 elbow. All the cheap ones are 6 inch radius and that won't fit. It is tight with the 4 inch radius and requires the shroud to be clipped.

This is an elbow I polished.

It just fits and a heat shield is simple.

Comparison of Vortech intake tube and 4 inch aluminum.

This is what it looks like if you don't polish the elbow.

There you go Moddiction. All the info you need to make them. I thought of making them before along with the heat shield, I just didn't want to interfere with Sideways.

I can make you the heat shields if you like. Hell I can make you the whole thing lol.

Hi chaps,

Apart from stating the obvious ie bore size, is there really any performance difference or anything that can be considered an advantage?

I will shortly be running a stock'ish 7psi comptech SC AC setup you see, is the CT elbow corrogated inside or prone to heat up or soemthing?

Sideways, i see you run a heatshield i believe you have a beast of an S but would this be worth while doing as opposed to using the comptech ice box on an CTSC?

Thanks

AJ

This is for those who are over boosting and seeing above 1 bar or if you have a T-trim you need the larger intake.
