So I've looked up on the ppg dog box gears and it's about 10g's for that setup which is crazy. The supra tranny seems to be more logical. Does anyone know how well the getrag supra tranny will hold up to 9300rpm shifts?

I know for the subaru PPG made regular synchro gears so you aren't necessarily required to go to a dogbox.

I just talked to the guys over at ppg and they said if i'm going to be shifting at 9300 i would need the dog box.

i know this is super late but,... yeah i just blew second did any you guys ever find a good solution??? that wont cost an arm and a leg to be reliable?...... under 4k????

im at 400whp and 300wtqif you guys wanted to know... i blew it at the track while mid drift in second around a corner. It wasn't because a down shift, it was already in 2 gear while tail sliding. then all a sudden a loud crunch and a bunh of clunking noises after.

at idle i hear alot of chatter, then i clutch in and all sounds go away.
when i shift to second it sound hella crazy, when i shift to third, alot less of that sound is herd. only in second is when its loud as shit.
im guessing i jus blew up my second????
and what are my solutions??? thanks mike........

supra tranny will be at least 5k, unless you get a killer deal. probably more if you don't install yourself/can't get a good deal.
