Redline makes it. Can find it at O'Reilly's

For those who are running more than 10lb of boost, would it be better to ditch aftercooler and do water/meth injection? Anyone know how much pressure loss on the aftercooler? Has anyone tried this?

No way. A/C only loses .5 psi and I would strongly recommend you keep this in place. Water/meth works awesome... better then any other cooling method, but its only squirting when your in boost, which is a small percentage of time during your driving. You need to have another cooling measure in place during idle/partial throttle running. A SC with A/C and water/meth injection is the ultimate set up period. My numbers speak for themselves. My car runs very consistent overall, and I don't even have the upgraded heat exchanger, just the stock dinky Comptech one.

And just to add, if you want to make the most power, typically run more % meth = more timing, more complete combustion. If you want to get more cooling ability then run more % water. You can run 100% of either if you want. Your boost level and set up/tune will dictate some of this so it really comes down to a bit of experimentation. The Typical is 50/50 Water/meth. I've played around with all ratios and for my set up 75-100% meth works best.

If you wan to talk to a guy that ran A non After cooled Comptech SC on 10psi with just water/meth as intake cooling ...talk to bluemetals. I don't think he ended up with good results for long. I believe he scored a piston. He is running nitrous on a new motor now, go figure

I ordered a Frozen Boost Type 118 heat exchanger which will be arriving tomorrow with a Bosch pump. The only bad thing I can say about it is it is a burly bar and plate style, and weighs about 14 lbs compared to 6 pounds or so for the SOS upgraded exchanger. I have been logging results and IATs get up to about 140 with my stock Comptech exchanger.

^^^ good to know Brad, is this an average? What’s the outside temp when measuring & driving conditions?

Let us know what your results are with that heat exchanger after the instillation and if you feel it’s a good alternative to the high $$ SOS exchanger.

That's the heat exchanger I installed. As big as a intercooler, very efficient.

Interested in how you mounted it up. PM me if you can. Thanks!

This is the max I have seen since installing the aftercooler. Probably a 70 degree day after a pull through 4th Gear on the freeway. Haven't done any repeated pulls to really "stress" the system, as this is where a larger HX would shine. As I plan on doing track days next season, I will need a system that doesn't get heat soaked in a 20 minute session.

Cruising temps at 60 degrees are usually around 115-125 or so. This seems unusually high to me as well, I would think this could be quite a bit lower with a better pump and HX.
