I wonder if anyone has used a blanket like the ones they use on turbos to shield the aftercooler from the heat in the engine bay.
I’m sure (Sideways) who is making over 500whp on his VT SC could attest to this. If an fmic yielded more power and safety, he would be running one. For anyone interested in running water/meth injection, this completely negates the use of an fmic at any boost level.

I can't tell you how much I lost from one vs. the other but.....my IAT's went from 180-190 down to 100-110 when I ditched the A2W and went front mount.
I was running a Comptech kit w/ 12lb pulley and was seeing 9.5-9.75lbs of boost with the front mount (this is in Denver, so Altitude is a factor also).

Your A2W system must have had a busted water pump or a kink. Granted that I have the upgraded SOS heat exchanger, I see 100-110 IAT (AIT sensor at the default location) when I go WOT when it's 80 degrees. I also use water wetter and deionized water.

I ran air to water intercooler with an AFCO cobra front mount, 1 gallon resevoir, lighting pump, and all -8an lines on me eaton supercharger Tiburon V6.. When i put my hands on my cooler core (which is part of the intake manifold CONNECTED to the blower) it was extremely cold to the touch.. needless to say.. I have an air to water setup waiting the winter months to install on the S.. I am all for air2water.. just need a good exchanger (fans help) a good pump, and a decent sized resevoir (which you can fill with ice at the track as well)

How much of a difference do you think Water Wetter and water (or straight water) really makes versus coolant in the AC?

After switching from Honda Type 2 coolant to water wetter and deionized water, I observed lowered IAT up to 15 degrees F under the same conditions. I wouldn't use tap water.
Any one ever use/heard of this?

Pretty cool since it has anti-foaming agents. If I recall correctly from when I used WW in the past, it foamed or can foam. I have also used Engine Ice in my motorcycles so I may look into that as an alternative to the Honda Type 2.
