Anyone using an upgraded radiator? Aluminum perhaps? I did not run into cooling problems with my old AP1/turbo setup, but underhood temperatures were HIGH (could feel it coming through firewall into cabin, when running hard). Looking to do some track days this time around, and wondering if stock radiator is sufficient.

Vented hood
DEI turbo Blanket.
One step colder NGJ iridium plugs
Fan time to kick in at 185F

Honestly I haven’t noticed a difference from the OEM radiator to the Mishimoto

In a word, no. The stock radiator is barely good enough for if the car is stock and the weather is hot.

Koyo R2334. Scanned the article - most of it was about gauges..... the part about the Koyo install left me with a couple Q's: Are any additional items/mods aside from the just the radiator needed to perform an install of the radiator itself? Fittings, etc.?

Yeah, all the radiator stuff on is on the last two pages. From reading the artilce, it's a straight forward swap; take out the old radiator and put in the new. The only mod mentioned was the unclipping of the fan wiring from the chassis because the thicker Koyo pushed the fans farther back stretching the wiring. So unsecuring the wiring from the chassis give it the needed slack to reach the fans.

You will need an aftermarket radiator cap with the Koyo.

I was overheating after doing my turbo install. I upgraded to a Koyo Radiator, Skunk 2 Rad cap, FAL fans, Greddy oil cooler. I'm using a mix of about 20-25% antifreeze (not pre-mix), 75-80% distilled water, one bottle Red Line Water Wetter. Through K-Pro we have set up my fans to kick on at 195 degrees so I see an operating temp range from 195-202.

Doesn't change the total heat capacity of the system though.

By my water gauge, thermostat starts to open at 170 and appears to be fully open by ~180. Fans kick on at 200-205F and switch off at 190-195F.

No reason to change any of this.
