Default Aftercooler question about air pump

Im installing an aftercooler after getting rid of my FMIC set up and I have a question about the aftercooler connections. I have the air pump line removed and have a small K&N on the output of the air pump. Now on the aftercooler where that line would go I was planing to use a bypass cap. Is this ok? Does this hole suck or blow on the aftercooler. IM asking beucase if it sucks its fine but if it blows I think 11psi may push it off so maybe I should get that welded shut. Any advfise would be great

Just put a cap on it...might want to use a clamp as well. Just out of curiosity...why ditch the FMIC?

Remove it all and get a egr block off plate for the intake manifold

Yeah it seems that as usual there are two arguments on this topic. I would expect boost loss, but would the colder iat's make up the difference? And why would there be a throttle response difference? I see iat's north of 150 and feel like the aftercooler is getting heat soaked with no way to cool off...especially on extended use or long drives. Thinking that on the track this will cause issues.

Too much boost loss so I want to retune on aftercooler setup.

How are is it to put the egr block off plate on? I have read that it can be a rear pain.

They are not too bad...but on the back side of the intake...just need patience.

How much boost did you lose?

about 2.5psi but I wanted to switch to tial bov and I just decided to change the set up. (my girl was driving me crazy so needed some time in the bat cave)

I've had both setups: the ct aftercooler with cobra pump and larger heat exchanger and also an authentic UR front mount intercooler set.

Both were with the ct blackbox, fuel regulator and Fb 340lph.

I didn't have a boost guage to measure the amount of boost for each, but a 4" pulley would get me a 12:5afr at redlinefor the aftercooler setup and a 3.8" pulley for the intercooler would do the same.

I believe I had more peak power with the intercooler. It was also easier to install and much simpler. During the summer I experienced no heat bog.

The aftercooler setup gave me better throttle response, but nothing significant. I did feel the power loss though.

Unless you are trying to max out the supercharger, i don't see why the intercooler is a bad option.

With a properly setup aftercooler/heat exchanger iats should stay pretty low. While driving mine usually don't go over 120 when 90+ outside.

Throttle response is a lot worse due to all the intercooler piping.

Fmic might work if your target boost is no more than 10 psi. To get that you would have to run a 12-14 psi pulley. 2.5-4 psi loss is normal for a fmic setup.
So if you want 12 psi with a fmic you will be overall ning the blower and making a lot less power since it will be blowing hot air.
