well, i read up on another post and somebody got theirs off of amazon.com and i went there and found both models (AFE 24-91030 at $62.29 shipped or afe 24-55507 at $42.51 shipped). so, a 5" height versus a 7" height and the taller one is $20 cheaper.

hey kyushin, is the afe filter just like a k&n filter, i have the k&n cleaner and spray oil from my NA intake still, is this what is used with the afe one, it is just blue instead of red right, so it's the same thing?
This I am not sure of, Id wait for someone with more experience to chime in, or call AFE and see what their cleaning materials are, I assume they are but dont hold me to it, because I do not know the fact.

Amazon sucks, from my experience and that of some friends, it can talk along time unless the seller tells you they have the item in stock and ready to ship. Changes are that they are on back order, and I think its slightly cheaper directly from AFE... I didnt save my order invoice.

I just used a K&N filter cleaning kit for my AFE and it's been fine.

The new filter design looks pretty cool. Let me know, if you feel any noticeable difference in sound/performance.

This could be a straight up marketing thing from AFE, but when I first bought the AFE filter, I called their customer support and talked to a live person there, and asked them about the cleaner and oil kit, they told me they don't recommend cleaner solutions and the oil solutions made for other filters. Because I already have the K&N and Comptech cleaner/oil kits from my other cars, and really wanted to save some money.

Did you have the AFE cleaner kit? I can't imagine oiled gauze type filters to have that much of a different in protectants.

Me too. When it came time to service my AFE filter, I had some K&N cleaner and oil lying around, so I just used that. Worked like a charm.

1/3 down there's a whole list of sizes for the AEM dryflow. I'm not sure what size you guys use but this is where I'm getting one for my turbo intake.

hope that helps
