My AEM EMS runs great. Excellent partial throttle drivability and I really liked the software. It takes a while to learn but it's very good. The only advantage to the KPro is the OBD II compliance.

Does this mean that you could possibly pass smog with the vortech SC w/ hondata?

If they scan for OBDII you'll fail immeditly with the AEM EMS> but with Kpro/hondata you'll be fine. This is the #1 reason i sold my AEM EMS since i was never able to use it here in NC.

An actuall Sniffer test, well that depends on how dirty your car runs hehe.

Correct. The Hondata would allow you to smog the car...the AEM will not. HOWEVER, if you are supercharged...just undo the belt to the SC and run on the stock ECU for a day or two prior to smogging. You'll pass and you won't have to shell out the extra $2k. As for turbo guys...that's a bit more complicated...they can't remove their source of boost quite as easily.

^They will not ask any questions when they see an unbelted blower sitting under the hood? And Hondata will only pass you where the scan for OBDII compliance. Cali folks are still SOL... but then again the EPA did just strike down the CARB requirements... should be an interesting power struggle between the states and the feds...

Not entirely correct. If the smog station does a visual check, they could find the Hondata unit and therefore disqualify you.

Maybe not 2k more for you but the AP1 guys have to change parts under the valve covers. The cam sensors or something????
